Fall baseball gives young players an opportunity to develop their fundamental skills AND get more experience in game situations. This is a fun time for the boys and girls as the fall is low intensity and purely developmental.
Registration will not open until August, but general fall ball details can be found below.
Dates: The season runs roughly from Sept 1 to Oct 31. Games are played between other West Side teams as well as home and away games with other local Little Leagues.
Format for each Age: For fall you should consider your player’s age in the spring. In all cases, the number of teams in each division is created based on the level of interest.

West Side offers boys and girls from 5 - 18 the opportunity to play baseball. Our aim is player development at all ages and levels. We play a District 28 League Schedule and offer the following specific programs:

These sessions are based on drills and fun games to learn the basics of throwing, catching, and hitting. Basic introduction to game situations are also reviewed (force outs vs. tag outs etc..). 8-10 sessions are scheduled, again, weather permitting. Sessions are scheduled for Saturday but rain-outs may be rescheduled for Sundays… sorry football fans.

Minor baseball is kid pitch baseball. We do not offer machine pitch baseball in the fall. This age bracket is for league age 8 players that want to play up in the Kid-pitch division in the spring, League age 9 players, and League age 10 players that wish to work on their skills for the spring. League age 10 players can play minor baseball or major baseball.

Major baseball is for players that will be 11 or 12 next spring. League age 10 players may sign up for Major baseball but pitchers will be 1 or 2 years older. Safety comes first at West Side so if you are not sure if your player is ready for this kind of challenge, minor baseball is a good place to play, have fun, and learn.

The field is 50 ft mound, 70 ft bases). Intermediate division baseball is for league age 12 players that want to get a baseball experience that includes taking leads and stealing as well as pick-offs and pitching from the stretch. This is a good introductory division for those players that may not be physically ready to move to the big diamond but want that kind of baseball experience.

The JV division plays on the BIG field (60 ft. mound, 90 ft. base paths). This is regulation middle school and high school baseball. Teams are created based on the level of interest. In the past we’ve had as many as 3 teams in this division that combines 13, 14, and 15 year old players.
